Believing in yourself is half the battle.
A Touch of Speed® (ATOS) is a youth track and field organization located in North Charleston, South Carolina, and is recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Established in 2019 by Eboni Thompkins-Webber, the organization was born from her desire to demonstrate to young track and field athletes the opportunities that can arise from commitment and hard work through sport.
In 2020, we launched a Kid’s Couch to 5K initiative to combat childhood obesity. This program is designed for young individuals interested in running without the need to join a track and field team, providing an excellent opportunity to promote physical activity among our youth.
In collaboration with Chick-fil-A Dorchester Road, we established the “Track Forward” Scholarship, which is awarded to two senior high school track and field athletes.
In 2021, we organized our inaugural fundraising event, featuring a 5K race and a Kid’s 1 Mile Fun Run. We are enthusiastic about the prospect of continuing this event for many years ahead, further supporting our community and its young athletes.
Our partnership with the North Charleston Police Department C.A.P.S. led to the launch of a six-week track training program in 2023. This program is free to the children in our community and aims to enhance their skills and promote a healthy lifestyle.
A Touch of Speed® is dedicated to nurturing the potential of young athletes in North Charleston and the surrounding areas.
We strive to cultivate a nurturing and safe environment for youth athletes within the Tri-County area, where they can thrive and enjoy their sporting experiences. Our commitment lies in guiding each athlete toward achieving their highest competitive standards, while simultaneously enhancing their overall well-being and character development, step by step.
